Just In Time: Sinking Yacht Rescued At Haulover Inlet

| | | 0 comments

A sinking yacht at Haulover inlet was rescued just in time earlier this month when the boat started taking on water.

The sixteen meter Sunseeker flybridge yacht had twelve passengers aboard when things took a turn for the worst. The near catastrophe happened at the famous Haulover inlet Miami Dade, Florida a little after 2pm on December 12.

Crew aboard the boat were quick to react and transferred the woman and children to safety.

TowBoatUS first arrived to assist the yacht and ITowBoats arrived at some point after. Miami Police and Miami Dade Fire Rescue also came out to assist.  The sinking yacht appears to have had a broken hose pipe in the engine room that caused it to take on water.

ITowBoatUS ended up successfully getting the Sunseeker back safely to the marina.

Wavyboats captured the entire ordeal that ended with the boat being saved with no injuries to passengers.

The Sunseeker involved is a Manhattan 52 second series model that replaced the 55 model and debuted in fall of 2016.
