He’s an IGFA world record holder as an angler and as a guide, award-winning marine artist, outdoor columnist, and tournament-winning angler originally from Bradenton, Florida. Thoughts on this “cartoon guy”? 🤷♂️🎣😎I’m now roughly 25 years into the fishing world from a business/marketing/social/digital perspective, and with that comes a lot of experience (and gray hairs … or, as I call them miles and memories 😂) and a lot of mistakes and valuable lessons.
One thing I’ve learned is simply to hire someone who’s way better than you at your weaknesses — and I can NOT do cartoon, fun designs. Just can’t do it! Never could! I’d waste so much valuable time trying to do it myself — and NEVER be happy with it.
So, I rolled the dice and hired someone randomly through Instagram (@biszartz ) who kept popping up in my DM’s … smart? Right? 🤡🥷 It turns out he’s some random teenage kid in Europe with a unique talent!
Anywho, here’s what we came up with after a few (cough) alterations by my picky self 🤪 I know I’ve alluded to it, but we’re so close with something newer and bigger and nicer and more importanter (yep, that’s a word now!) than I’ve ever been involved with before … thus, the one logo with no “fishing” 🎣💪😀

I tried to bring in a mix of saltwater inshore/offshore with freshwater fish and other images, so it’s not all fishing, visually/subliminally guide the eye around (I still remember Jack Turnock! 😂), work it into my name creatively and graphically using the 4 or IV (I still can’t get my own name for a website … that’s another story 🙃), and some other nerdy stuff … anywho, here’s what I’ve got!

It’s official — #1) We’re insane, and went to Disney on Spring Break again (weather and other factors played into it 🤪) and #2) Epcot is the #1 family choice and Magic Kingdom is falling further behind as the girls get older!
It’s bittersweet, but eating around the world, Guardians of the Galaxy being the best ride anywhere in Disney, and much more (warning photo dump later 🥷😂) … the only problem is Molly hasn’t had much time to work on her getting tan goal of 2023, but 30 degree weather will do that!☀️🙃

Ironically, we closed the west side of the mud room/Butler’s Pantry in (girls backpacks/shoes space, and a new pantry), while completely opening up the rest of the house. 😳 We simultaneously opened up the back corner of this room to a new laundry room (which was previously outside in the garage). More to come with that, and the rest of the house!

FIRST redfish EVER for Heath Walker & a PB trout! 🎣💯 I’ve been trying to get Heath and his son, Devin Walker, out on the water for a long time to do some consulting/fishing, and we had one mission — catch his first redfish!! The rest would be gravy 😎 Well after a few dozen tries with great tides and weather we finally synched up on a day with 20-30MPH and the most high water I’ve ever seen and no tide movement 😬😂
It’s never easy but after a few hours of ZERO and me starting to think we should lump back to shore and call it a day we finally found some … and they were BIG. A couple of perfect upper slot reds for Heath and Devin and then we found a big trout flurry — every trout was mid 20”s or better. Devin lost one boat side pushing 28” or better 💔 I lose a giant redfish in the mid 30’a but all in all we’d have been in the money in about any local tournament scenario with the quality.
We had a blast and it was fun with these 2 — reminded me of me and my pops with the back and forth!! 😂😂 Devin is also the big gobbler whisperer and we harvested that monster last Spring … looking for round 2 soon! 🦃 Can’t wait to do it again — with no to little wind and big tides 😜 Oh yah, our only casualty was a 25” gator that literally swallowed the mirrodine to her stomach, impossible to get it out clean, and we tried our best to save her, but it was too deep … so, that’s my first over 19” in the box in many years, but sometimes that’s the way it is…

Finally had the chance to fish with the All-American/National Championship Runner-Up/Bass Slayer/Etc. @jacksonswisher_fishing — and we had a BLAST! 💥 Why? Because we got on a 90 minute heater of golden hour of redfish BLASTING topwaters!! 🙌👏
Our goal was simple - catch Jackson his first redfish on topwater! Mission accomplished 🎣 Mix in some decent trout and a couple of limits on mid to upper slot reds at sunset and it’s a good day in my book! 🌅
Can’t wait to get him back out for a full day saltwater, skinny water fish fest and get some more FGC Fishing guys out there … they’re always too busy bass fishing though 🤷♂️😂 Videos coming soon …

I’m trying to challenge myself monthly/quarterly/yearly with one “challenge” after another (I need to have goals or nothing really happens) 🤷♂️🙃… February was my buddy’s @tom_rowland 10,000 push up Challenge (about 350 a day).
This was the conclusion with my young Wolf Pack at FGC who are all literally a foot shorter than me and 100 pounds lighter!! But, these teens bring the energy every day to motivate an old man like me!! 🤪😂 Onto March! 30 pounds in 90 days 🤘👋 Thanks sloth, Panther, lynx and werewolf for the inspiration 💯🫵🙌
