A catch and release got caught again after a massive bull shark gobbled up a cobia right after a fisherman tossed it back into the ocean.
Chad of chadgonefishing was fishing from a pier when he caught a good-looking cobia. He wasn’t going to keep it so he quickly let the fish off the hook and sent it on its merry way.
Welp.
That lasted for about 2.3 seconds because a clearly hungry bull shark was waiting by the pier, probably knowing a decent snack would fall from the sky at some point.
Check it out for yourself below:
Talk about some epic highs and epic lows.
The cobia probably thought it was all over after taking the bait and ending up with an impromptu piercing. Luckily, it managed to escape going home with chad and found its way back in familiar territory.
Unlucky for the recently captured and even more recently freed cobia, it’s freedom was cut way short thanks to the fast choppers attached to one patient shark.
We’d be willing to bet that bull shark hangs around that pier kind of like my cousin that graduated a while ago but keeps showing up at high school parties.
