We’re glad we don’t live wherever this iguana lives after watching it run for its life from a non-stop snake army.
This absolutely insane behavior had never been filmed before this encounter from Planet Earth II. The marine iguana seems uncertain when it’s initially approached by a snake. It can either run or stay still and hope it doesn’t get noticed. It chooses the latter but quickly realized that won’t work when the snake gets a little too close.
It takes off like lightning, but the snake is right on its tail.
Unfortunately for the iguana – and for our nightmares – the snake wasn’t alone. An entire army of snakes seemingly appear out of nowhere as the iguana runs past rocks and join in on the chase.
The iguana manages to stay just ahead of the snakes, despite a slight hiccup when it got caught in a snake pile.
In the end, the iguana manages to get away and finds safety with a fellow buddy.
We fully expect to have nightmares about this for for the next few weeks!
